The Quiet Charm of The Porcupine

I've had only a few brief encounters with our native porcupines but on every occasion I found them to be pleasant and unhurried creatures. My few attempts to capture their plodding grace in cartoons has been less than brilliant. This panel stands alone as my one, less than shining, success.

  1. I admit it - unless they're eating my house, I, too appreciate the porcupine. Even though past dogs found it necessary to hassle them repeatedly, never learning the lesson of the porcupine, despite intense pain. I think they are beautiful. Besides, their quills make nice jewelry.

  2. P.S. Porcupines are about a zillion times cuter than possums!
